Nature Hearts Program

Our Nature Hearts Program is one of the few bush preschool programs that has been licensed by the Department of Education. It is run by a qualified early childhood teacher. Children attend on Thursdays and Fridays and runs from Bangalow Parklands. The program was created for children and families who resonate from learning through immersion in our natural world. Our Nature Hearts philosophy is that children who have the opportunity to develop a deep love for nature and connection to our land will develop an eternal drive to care for our planet. Nature Hearts also values children right to ‘just be.’ In 2025 our Nature Hearts Program will run as an integrated part of a selected number of our regular programs. When you enrol in Byron Bay Preschool Coogera or Byron Bay Preschool Cavanbah you may (depending on what group you are enrolling in) have the option of choosing a Nature Hearts enrolment stream. If your child is accepted in this stream, they will go as a small group with our Nature Hearts Teacher to a forest location one day a week to engage in our nature program. If you are interested in enrolling in a Nature Hearts stream, please click ‘Nature Hearts’, on our website as you will need to ensure your child has enrolled in a regular program that includes this option. Currently half our programs run a Nature Hearts stream. There are a limited number of Nature Hearts places in each program. Children are selected for Nature Hearts based on age (oldest first). If your child does not get accepted in the Nature Hearts stream on the first year you apply, they may be eligible the following year.
